The best time to visit the Seychelles is during the dry season between May and October, when the tropical high temperatures are cooled by sea breezes and the sea is calm.
The Seychelles experiences a tropical climate governed by the trade winds with an annual temperature range between a high of 31°C and a low of 24°C, with humidity around 80 per cent.
The islands remain a year-round destination despite rain showers, which generally fall as sudden, heavy downpours that quickly clear leaving blue, sunny skies.
The pre-southeast monsoon period of April is usually calm and virtually windless with an average temperature of 28°C peaking at 31°C with a low of 25°C.
From May to October, the southeast trades bring cooler, drier weather that is also quite windy. From June, the average daily temperature drops to 26°C peaking at 29°C with a low of 24°C. July and August are the driest months.
The pre-northwest monsoon period of November is usually the onset of the rainy season with light winds and an average temperature of 28°C peaking at 31°C with a low of 25°C.
The hottest time of year is between November and April with the arrival of the northwest trades, which bring wet and warm airstreams and an average high around 31°C with a low of 24.5°C. March and April are the hottest months.
The rainy season lasts from November to February, and while downpours can be heavy, they rarely last long. The wettest months are December and January.
