Vietnam Honeymoon

Consider a honeymoon or romantic getaway adventure in Vietnam, and discover an intriguing land of overwhelming natural beauty, rich in culture and tradition and overflowing with adventure.

Since the reunification of North and South Vietnam in 1975, which ended years of war, Vietnam has gone through a renaissance. Today this resilient nation bursts with optimism and commercial energy, allowing visitors access throughout the country and offering a range of adventure options, typically within easy reach of fine cuisine and accommodation to suit every budget.

Things to do and see
On an adventure to Vietnam, hike through the Hoang Lien Mountains to Sapa and visit ethnic hill tribes. Kayak between jagged limestone islets in Halong Bay, cruise the Perfumed River in Hue, discover the beautiful coastal beach resort of Nha Trang, dive into the pristine waters around Phu Quoc and explore the Mekong Delta by boat or by bicycle.

Or crawl through the claustrophobic wartime Cu Chi tunnels near Saigon or the Vinh Moc tunnels near Hue, duck into the command bunker of defeated French General De Castries at Dien Bien Phu and see wrecked fighter jets at the War Remnants Museum in Saigon.

Experience Hanoi’s tree-lined boulevards, lakes and belle époque villas; explore palaces and the famous citadel in the ancient imperial city of Hué; and dive into bustling Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) for shopping bargains.

Best buys – Lacquer painting, embroidery, tailor-made ao dais and mother-of-pearl inlayed ornaments are all great buys in Vietnam.

Best time to visit Vietnam?
As a general rule, for all areas north of Nha Trang, the best time to visit is during the months of April, May or October. South of Nha Trang, aim for the cool, dry months between November and February.

Although generally tropical, the weather in Vietnam varies greatly from north to south and overall ranges from chilly mountains and cool highlands to steamy jungle and sun-kissed coastlines.

Geographically, Vietnam is spread across two different climatic zones with opposing monsoon seasons: a moderate northern zone, with winter from November to April and summer from May to October; and a tropical southern zone, with a hot and humid climate, much like the rest of Southeast Asia.
