Best visited in summer when the famous south-easterly wind known as Cape Doctor brings a welcome breeze, or in winter. In spring the wind can turn into a wild gale with gusts up to 120km/hr lashing the coastline. Summer, from December to March, can be hot, with the average maximum temperature at 26°C. Winter temperatures, from June to August, range from 7°C to 18°C, with lots of pleasant sunny days.
