How to get to Zanzibar

Zanzibar is located in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean and separated from the African mainland by a 35m-wide channel, and is easily accessible by ferry or by air with daily connecting flights from Dubai and Dar Es Salaam.

The tiny archipelago of Zanzibar comprises the main island of Zanzibar (known locally as Unguja), as well as the smaller Pemba and Mnemba islands and several surrounding islets.

Zanzibar Island is only 90km long, 30km wide and roughly 2460sq km in area.
