Introducing Great Keppel Island
Idyllic Great Keppel Island rivals the better-known Whitsunday Islands that lie further north and is perfect for kayaking, snorkelling and swimming.
What to do and see on Great Keppel Island
Pick a secluded spot to sunbathe on stunning Two Mile Beach, set between bush-clad rocky headlands on the south coast of the island.
Hike scenic bush trails to Lonely Bay on the southeastern shore or explore the coastline by sea kayak or sailing catamaran to find your own secluded white-sand beach.
Great Keppel also offers a wide range of activities including sailing, fishing, scuba diving, water skiing, parasailing and skydiving.
Tee-off at the local golf course (a seven-hole chip and putt course), take a sunset cruise or ride camels along Putney Beach.
Presently, the island offers rustic and affordable accommodation options as the Great Keppel Island Resort is now closed. Plans for a new resort have yet to advance beyond the planning stage.
