High season: All the major public holidays including Christmas, New Year and Easter.
Low season: Even outside the major holiday periods, Hyams Beach is a popular year-round destination especially at weekends.
The historic Cape St George Lighthouse at the end of Stoney Creek Road is a popular spot to watch migrating humpback and southern right whales when they head north to warmer waters to breed from June to July, and also when they return south with their calves around September and October.
