April is an excellent time to visit the Whitsundays.

While you can sail year round in the Whitsundays, April heralds the start of the sailing season, which is at it’s best between April and October when cooling southeast trades blow consistently between 15 to 25 knots.
This is considered the mid or shoulder season for yacht charters, running from 1st April until 12th September.
School and public holidays including Easter and Anzac Day (25 April) bring an increase of visitors. Bookings should be made well in advance to avoid disappointment.

For the best weather visit the Whitsundays anytime between May and November. However, late March through December are considered the best holiday months.
