Whitsundays Weather in April

April is an excellent time to visit the Whitsundays.

You can expect clear, sunny blue skies, mild to warm daily temperatures with lower humidity and the occasional rain shower.

April is perfect for exploring the the Whitsundays' beaches and hiking trails, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing.

While you can sail year round in the Whitsundays, April heralds the start of the sailing season, which is at it’s best between April and October when cooling southeast trades blow consistently between 15 to 25 knots.

This is considered the mid or shoulder season for yacht charters, running from 1st April until 12th September.

School and public holidays including Easter and Anzac Day (25 April) bring an increase of visitors. Bookings should be made well in advance to avoid disappointment.
