Whitsundays Weather in November

November is an excellent time to visit the Whitsundays.

You can expect clear, sunny blue skies, warm to hot temperatures and the occasional light rain shower.

November is perfect for exploring the Whitsundays’ hiking trails and beaches, swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving and sailing.

August to November is considered the most settled time of year for sailing in the Whitsundays. During the months of November through January, it’s normal to get wind from the northeast direction.

Be prepared for the occasional cyclone from November to May. Although cyclones usually occur during February and March. Queensland has an excellent cyclone warning system that provides plenty of advance notice of an impending cyclone.

The stinger season lasts from October to March. A lycra stinger suit should be worn when swimming in the Whitsundays during this time. The risk of being stung is small. Sharks are generally not regarded as a risk.

Best time to visit the Whitsundays

For the best weather visit the Whitsundays anytime between May and November. However, late March through December are considered the best holiday months.

The Whitsundays enjoy a year-round tropical climate of hot, wet summers, warm, dry winters and a pleasant spring and autumn.
