Where is Milos . . .

Milos is one of the Cyclades, a group of islands that comprises Mykonos, Paros, Naxos, Ios and Santorini, plus a number of smaller islands. The Cyclades is located in the Aegean Sea, south-east of mainland Greece.

Getting to Milos
By air, Milos is just 40 minutes from Athens.

By ferry, Milos is just 5 hours from Piraeus (Athens), 4 hours 30 minutes from Paros and 5 hours 30 minutes from Ios. Fast catamarans reduce these times by as much as 30 minutes in every hour.

From Australia: The most convenient flights to Athens are via Bangkok on Thai Airways, Dubai on Emirates or Abu Dhabi on Etihad Airways, with connecting flights to Milos on Olympic Air.

From New Zealand: The most convenient flights to Athens are via Bangkok on Thai Airways or via Singapore on Singapore Airlines, with connecting flights to Milos on Olympic Air.

From the UK: Numerous daily non-stop flights are available from London to Athens with connecting flight to Milos.

Milos National Airport is 4km south of the main town, Adamas. Taxis operate from the airport terminal.

Athens Airport – Eleftherios Venizelos International Airport – is located 33km southeast of the city centre, around 30 minutes to an hour by taxi. The airport offers 24/7 train and bus services to Athens and beyond.

Entry requirements 
A passport valid for at least six months beyond intended period of stay, a return/onward ticket and proof of sufficient funds. No visa is required for a stay of up to 90 days.

Getting around
The local bus service offers an inexpensive way to explore the island. Cars, motorcycles and mopeds can also be hired. Taxis are also available; negotiate the fare beforehand.
