How to get to Tuscany and Forte Dei Marmi

Tuscany lies in northwest Italy between the central Apennines and the Tyrrhenian Sea.

The most convenient route to Forte Dei Marmi is by air to Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport (PSA), located about 1.8km (1mi) south of Pisa, and about 43km (26mi) south of Forte Dei Marmi.

Public transport

Taxi: Radio Taxi (tel: +39 050 541 600; www.cotapi.it), operates a 24-hour taxi service from Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport the centre of Pisa, taking about 10 minutes. The fare is approximately €10.

The taxi stand is located in front of the terminal exit, arrivals side.

Rail: The fully automatic PisaMover train connects the airport directly with Pisa Central Station every five to eight minutes between 0600 and midnight, taking just 5 minutes. The PisaMover station is located just 40m (130ft) from the terminal.

Bus: Buses leave for the town centre every 10 minutes, taking less than 10 minutes. The fare is €1.10.

The service leaves from in front of the arrivals hall and from the Cassa Parcheggi outside the departures hall.

From Pisa Centrale station, a regular train service runs to Forte Dei Marmi's Via Aurelia Stazione every 30 minutes, taking around 30 minutes. A bus links the station to the beach, taking 12 minutes.


Car rental

Car hire companies at Pisa International Airport Galileo Galilei include Auto Europa, Avis, Europcar, Hertz, Maggiore/National and Sixt. The car rental 'terminal' is located just 500m (546yd) from the terminal and is accessible by shuttle bus.


Terminal facilities

Money: A bank and a currency exchange desk are available.

Food: There is a pub, bar and café on the ground floor, and three restaurants and a bar on the first floor.

Shopping: The shopping area, La Corte, has more than 20 shops including a duty-free shop (for passengers leaving the EU) in Departures and a tax-refund facility.

Wi-Fi: Wi-Fi internet access (free for the first 60 minutes) is available throughout Pisa Galileo Galilei International Airport. There are also fixed internet stations in both Departures and Arrivals. Public telephones are also available to passengers.
