Cardrona features 320ha of ski terrain with dedicated gentle slopes for beginners, wide open groomed slopes for intermediates and tight chutes for advanced skiers.

There's aso an extensive terrain park with pipes and a thrilling 800m gravity cross course run of curves, bumps and berms for freestylers.

A high-speed chairlift means more runs in less time, and an advanced terrain park offers three new jumps.

Cardrona is open for both winter skiing and snowboarding, as well as a range of summer activities.

Lessons and schools Both ski and snowboard instruction is available for all ages including groups and private lessons from beginner to instructor. The Cardrona High Performance Centre offers experienced skiers and snowboarders additional coaching to improve their skills.

Children's options Ski programs for 3 to 14 year olds as well as licensed childcare centre from 3 months to 3 years.

For snowboarders Three terrain parks, a half-pipe park and a 800m sculptured gravity cross course offer a variety of options for learners and freestyle experts including rails, boxes and jumps.

Heliskiing New Zealand’s remote snow-dusted heights in the Southern Alps are tailor-made for heliskiing. Costs range from NZ$550 for a half-day trip of three runs to NZ$750–1000 for a full day of four to seven runs.

Getting there Just 35 minutes drive (34km) from Wanaka and 60 minutes drive (58km) from Queenstown; daily shuttle bus to/from Wanaka.
