How to get to the Amalfi Coast
The Amalfi Coast stretches along the rugged Sorrentine Peninsula south of Naples on the west coast of southern Italy, and is easily accessible by bus and car from nearby Salerno.
Amalfi town is around 61km south of Naples, 15km east of the resort of Positano and 31km west of Salerno. The most convenient route from overseas is by air to Rome followed by train (or bus) to Naples and Salerno.
By train: Rome to Naples takes 1 hours 35 minutes; Naples to Salerno is 1 hour. The drive from Salerno to Amalfi by bus, taxi or hire care should take 40 minutes. An hourly bus service operates between Sorrento and Salerno stopping at Amalfi.
By sea, the Metro del Mare offers summer-only trips (between April and October) from Naples stopping at Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi and Salerno.

Leonardo da Vinci Airport is located 30km south-west of central Rome. An express train service is the quickest way to get to central Rome.
