How to get to Turks and Caicos

The Turks and Caicos (commonly known as TCI) are a British Overseas Territory, and include more than 40 islands and cays comprising the larger Caicos Islands and smaller Turks Islands, which together form the southeast end of the Bahamas group of islands.

The Turks and Caicos Islands lie southeast of Mayaguana in the Bahamas, northeast of Cuba and north of the island of Hispaniola (Haiti and the Dominican Republic).

The most convenient route to the Turks and Caicos is by air to Providenciales International Airport (PLS), the main entry point for the Turks and Caicos Islands, located 2km (1.2mi) west of Providenciales Town, and 16km (10mi) from Grace Bay.

Providenciales International Airport (PLS) receives daily nonstop flights from North America, as well as from several Caribbean islands.

Alternatively, you can fly into JAGS McCartney International Airport (GDT), the territory's other international airport, located near the capital, Cockburn Town, on Grand Turk Island.

How to get around TCI

The Turks and Caicos is an archipelago nation consisting of six main islands – Providenciales, Grand Turk, North Caicos, Middle Caicos, South Caicos and Salt Cay.

Providenciales and Grand Turk host most of the country's population, and consequently flights and ferries mainly operate around these two hubs.
