Best time to visit Mallorca

For the best weather, visit Mallorca anytime between June and September. However, to avoid summer crowds and still bask in clear sunny days with daily temperatures averaging 24°C (75°F), visit Mallorca anytime during May, September and October.

Mallorca weather

Mallorca enjoys a Mediterranean climate characterised by long, hot summers and short, mild winters.

Summer, from June to September, is hot with little rainfall and low humidity. You can expect a daily average high of 27°C 81°F) peaking around 31°C (88°F) in July and August. Cooling sea breezes are fairly consistent throughout summer. Sea temperatures peak around 25°C (77°F) in August.

Autumn is warm and wet but still sunny, with an average high of 24°C (75°F) in October and 19°C (66°F) in November. October is the wettest month of the year.

Winter is mild in coastal regions averaging 15°C (59°F) from December to February but snow is common in the mountains. January is the coldest month with a high of 15°C (59°F) and a low of 5°C (41°F).

Spring is sunny and mild with moderate rainfall; temperatures average a high of 17°C (63°F) in March, 19°C (66°F) in April and 23°C (73°F) in May.

Southeast regions are generally warmer and drier than northwest regions of the island. Mallorca’s mountain ranges bring regional climate variations, with cooler temperatures and higher rainfall than the coast.

Seasons

Peak season: July and August when temperatures soar beyond 30ºC (86ºF), with many hotels booked out and traffic, restaurants and beaches at their most congested. Of course, if you like the buzz of lots of people then this is the best time to go.

High season: June and September. Not quite as bad as July and August for crowds.

Low season: Winter, spring and autumn when prices are competitive with minimal foreign visitors or Spanish tourists.
